ISSRF is mandated to create, manage, and proactively provide data and results of statistical surveys to other institutions, organizations, independent researchers across the country in form of monographs, reports, journals, etc. in furtherance of the objects of the Foundation. 

It analyses the unit-level data from the Census, sample surveys, and administrative/ registration data and creates disaggregated and granular statistics to facilitate more effective policy and intervention targeting beyond broad trends and averages.
