  6. Important Projects Dealt / Member of the Groups Constituted
      • Indian Representative in the Expert Group on the Integration of Statistical and Geospatial Information constituted on the instance of UNSC in its 44th Session held in March 2013 and as endorsed by UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) at its third meeting in July 2013. Attended its first Meeting held at Newyork during October 30 – November 1, 2013.
      • Worked as Member Secretary of the Standing Committee of NSSO on IT (during August-November 2017) constituted by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation under the Chairmanship of DG & CEO, NSSO.
      • Worked as Member Secretary of the Standing Committee on UFS Related Issues constituted by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation under the Chairmanship of ADG, FOD, NSSO with members from NRSC, NIC, Computer Centre and other Divisions of NSSO. As per the recommendations of the Committee, UFS Phase 2017-20 was started using mobile/ web application developed by the NRSC.
      • Worked as Member Secretary of the Task Force to Monitor Progress of Swachchha Bharat Mission (SBM) as constituted by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation on October 21, 2014 under the Chairmanship of DG, CSO with members from Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS), Ministry of Urban Development (UD), Ministry of Rural Development (RD), Census Commissioner and Divisional Heads of CSO/NSSO.
      • Worked as a Member of the Sub Group on Sampling Design for Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) constituted on March 21, 2014 under the Chairmanship of Dr. G. C. Manna, ADG, ESD, Central Statistics Office (CSO) to study sampling design relating to proper representation of units having employee size less than 100 in ASI sample and to recommend necessary changes in the sampling design, if any.
      • Worked as a Member of the Sub-Group of the Working Group of the NSS 73rd Round (July 215-June 2016) formed under the Chairmanship of Dr. A. C. Kulshresthaby the Working Group in its meeting on September 22, 2014, for detailed studies and in- depth analysis of various dimensions of the survey including subject coverage, sample design and enterprise level schedule.
      • Worked as a Member of the Core Group of Working Group on NSS 72nd Round (July 2014-June2015)constituted in 2014 under the Chairmanship of Prof. Shibdas Bandopadhyaya to evaluate methodology for using shorter schedules in NSS consumer expenditure survey and to examine the feasibility of preparing amaster sample for use in future NSS rounds.
      • On nominated by the NSSO , assisted the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), Department of Telecommunication during 2008-09 on the work relating to “Improvement of Mechanism and Formats for Verification of Subsidy Claims by USOF” and submitted a report on determination of sample size and selection of sample Village Public Telephones (VPTs)for verification with a purpose to estimate the proportions of VPTs with false claims (so as to penalize the concerned USPs) and to estimate the quantum of deduction from the subsidy claims disbursed on account of false claims’
      • Conducted a study on Rationalization of Sugar zones, during 2007-08by using detailed factory data relating to sugar recovery, crushing capacity, duration of crushing, age of factory etc. and district wise data on agriculture production, acreage and yield of sugar with the help of cluster analysis and principal component analysis. Based on the same, sugar producing areas in the country were demarcated into 9 zones and 16 subzones.
      • Worked as a Member of the Screening Committee of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) during 2004-07, regarding appraisal of the proposals received from State Governments and Cooperative Societies for Cooperative Development.
      • Formulation and monitoring of plan scheme on awards and fellowships for outstanding and meritorious research work in statisticsto encourage high quality research in the field of applied and official statistics during 1998-99.
      • Development of Urban and RegionalInformation Systems (during 1984-94) – Identification of development indicators, their testing through two pilot studies in two medium sized towns of Chengalpattu (Tamil Nadu) and Anand (Gujarat), data requirement and system analysis and actual collection of data for the districts for regional information system and cities/towns for urban information system
      • A research study on “GIS Application in District Planning – Case Study of Bharatpur District” (1992-94) as undertaken by Town and Country Planning Organisation (TCPO) in collaboration with Space Application Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. Quantitative analysis of geographic and related statistical (attribute) data at the level of village/hinterland (1442 villages and 9 towns spread over 8 tehsils) in the form of development indicators like population, agriculture, health, industry, market/mandi, transport, employment, educational institutions, income, physical characteristics, development programmes etc. alongwith the inter linkageswere studied and district plan was prepared.
